About
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, School of Energy Technology, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) Gandhinagar. Prior to this, I've done my Ph.D. at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad.
My primary research areas are Energy & Sustainability, Gas sorption Kinetics/Diffusion studies, Pore-scale Modeling, Multi-phase reactive transport mechanisms, Machine Learning & AI, Mathematical Modeling, and Reservoir Modeling & Simulation. At PDEU I am currently associated with SHELL Energy Projects: Atmospherics CO2 Capture and Green Hydrogen Production. In addition, I’m a committee member of the Government of India’s CBM Policy framework (Agency: Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (Exploration Division)). My Ph.D. research focuses on integrating various parameters that influence the transportation mechanism of gases in coal reservoirs. My work on flow mechanisms of fluids during my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree and the insights I have gleaned with about eight years of studying geosciences have led me to believe in the value of integrating transport mechanisms of fluids with reservoir heterogeneity and irregularities. A major facet of my research encompasses sorption kinetics of Methane, Carbon-dioxide, and Nitrogen on various bituminous samples of the most prolific CBM plays of Jharia, Raniganj, and Shadol regions operated by ONGC, ESSAR, and RELIANCE. Alongside this, I have also carried out the fractal analysis, statistical & Deep learning techniques, and reservoir modeling & simulation for the collected samples. These particular studies create a new paradigm for a comprehensive understanding of Unconventional reservoirs as well as to invent disruptive technologies for unconventional hydrocarbon resource recovery and enhanced production.
