About
I’m an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences(NIMHANS), Bangalore, India which is the premier institute for the management of Neurological diseases in India. I am also an Associate Editor for the Indian Journal of Neurotrauma. My previous educational experiences include an undergraduate in the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, a Master's in General Surgery at Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur, MCh (post-MD) in Neurosurgery at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences(NIMHANS), and a National Gold Medal (President's Gold Medal) at the National Board of Examinations. I have been a faculty in Neurosurgery (Apex Trauma Center) at Sanjay Gandhi PostGraduate Institute of Medical Sciences. Post 2019 I have been a Faculty at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences(NIMHANS), Bangalore, India.
I am also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in Neurosurgery.
As a neurosurgical student, my basic science projects focused on finding a new point for shunt insertion and fiducial marking depending on the morphometry of the skull.
Within neurosurgery, my academic and clinical interests fall largely within vascular neurosurgery, image-guided neurosurgery, complex cranial surgery, skull base, and cerebrovascular practices including neuroanatomy, neuroradiology, radiosurgery, neurotrauma, and interesting case reports.
My commitment has also included being the social media editor and editorial board member of Neurology India (Impact factor 2.7@2019), World neurosurgery (Impact Factor 2@2019) and Indian journal of Neurotrauma
Elsewhere: I’m an avid advocate for equal rights and inclusive development and resident education and training.
