Prof(Dr.) Nisar Ahmad Rather (N. A. Rather), born in Srinagar, J&K - India, completed all his degrees(M.Sc., M.Phil. & PhD) in mathematics from Kashmir University, where he later joined as Reader in the late 90s after leaving his teaching job in Amar Singh College (now part of Cluster University Srinagar). Appointed to the Reader position in 1999, he rose to full Professorship in 2007, served as Head of the Department of Mathematics from 2011 to 2014, and from 2018 to 2020 & as Dean of Physical & Material Sciences, along with various other university positions. His core areas of research include Complex Function Theory, Polynomials and its inequalities. He has published more than 130 papers in various international journals of mathematics and supervised more than 15 doctoral students in his capacity as the supervisor.
