About
Dr. G. L. Gupta is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, SVKM’s NMIMS University, Shirpur Campus, India. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2009. With around 20 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Gupta has published numerous scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Neuropharmacology, Neurochemistry International, etc. He has also presented his research at prestigious national and international conferences.
Dr. Gupta has been honored with several awards, including the Young Scientists Award, multiple travel grants, and the Best Oral Presentation Award. He has secured government-funded research projects from the Science, Engineering and Research Board (SERB) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Additionally, he has received international travel grants and has visited Berlin, Germany; Lille, France; Singapore; and Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
He is a Life Member of several professional organizations, including the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE), Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS), Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), and Indian Pharmacy Graduates' Association (IPGA). Dr. Gupta serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals, including the Journal of Alcoholism Clinical Research, International Journal of Pharmacognosy & Chinese Medicine, and Austin Journal of Pharmacology & Therapeutics. He is also a reviewer for high-impact journals such as Brain, Behavior, and Immunity; The FASEB Journal; Journal of Affective Disorders; and Frontiers in Pharmacology.
Two of Dr. Gupta's Ph.D. scholars have received their degrees, and he is currently supervising one Ph.D. scholar. He has been nominated as a CCSEA member by the Animal Welfare Division, Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India.
Dr. Gupta's research focuses on the use of herbal medicines and phytochemicals in treating alcohol abstinence syndromes, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic depression, and other CNS disorders.
