First Stem Cell and Genomics Laboratory, G42 Healthcare, Manipal University, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences
About
I am a Clinical Virologist, Genomics Specialist, and Stem Cell expert with over 12 years of experience in clinical diagnostics, virology research, and next-generation sequencing (NGS). My career has been defined by managing high-containment BSL-2 and BSL-3 operations and coordinating international research projects funded by the WHO and CDC.
Most recently, I served as a Medical Laboratory Supervisor in Dubai, where I led genomics workflows and advanced cellular modeling using Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (hiPSC). My professional background also includes a pivotal role as a Technical Lead for the Emirati Genome Project at G42 Healthcare, where I oversaw the processing of over 500,000 samples for one of the world’s most ambitious population genomics initiatives.
I am recognized for my work in the 2018 Nipah virus outbreak containment in Kerala, an effort for which I was honored with a commendation from the Chief Minister. I hold an M.Sc. in Clinical Virology from the Manipal Institute of Virology and a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
My current research interests lie at the intersection of viral immunology, host-pathogen interactions, and the development of innovative surveillance programs for emerging infectious diseases. I am an active member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and remain a licensed Medical Laboratory Professional with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
