About
Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Mir holds Master’s Degree in Life Science from HNB Central University and after qualifying prestigious National level CSIR-JRF-NET examination; he completed his Ph. D from Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi through CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology Chandigarh in the field of Immunopathology. His Ph. D research title was “Role of co-stimulation in antigen presenting cells and survival of intracellular pathogens”. His basic research interests include, molecular immunology of Cancer and Immunobiology of microbes. He is presently working on combination therapy in breast cancer (TNBC), targeting drug resistant cancer stem cells by combinational drug delivery using various natural and synthetic drugs, early detection and efficient prevention of breast cancer using machine learning tools, understanding the role of tumor microenvironment in breast cancer progression besides working on elucidation of molecular mechanism of drug resistant microbes. He has published more than 40 high-impact research papers and 50 book chapters. Dr. Manzoor has authored more than 15 books with international publishers like Elsevier USA, Nova Biomedical Science Publisher USA, Bentham Sciences, IGI Global, Springer-Nature etc. Dr Manzoor has developed Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) in Immunology course and Endocrinology course for UG students sanctioned by UGC-Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) SWAYAM Ministry of HRD Govt of India. Besides he is currently developing the MOOC courses on Human Genetics and Human Population Genetics which were sanctioned to him by Academic Advisory Board of CEC-UGC in March 2022. Dr Manzoor has currently two on going projects one from SERB-DST Govt of India and one from JKST&IC-DST Govt of J&K. He is on the editorial board and Reviewer of some prestigious journals like Cancer Biomarkers, Frontiers in Immunology, PlOS One, Breast Diseases, Journal of Translational Medicine, Clinical and Translational Oncology, Journal of Oncology, Human antibodies, Clinical and Translational Medicine, Medicinal Chemistry Research, Springer Plus, etc He is member of many scientific organizations and societies like American Association of Cancer Research, Fellow of Royal British Society, International Immunology Association, Indian Cancer Society, Indian Immunology Society, etc. Dr Manzoor was awarded Teachers Associate Research Excellence Fellowship (TARE) by DST Govt of India. He has been awarded Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP-2019) by Indian Academy of Sciences and National Science Academy. He has research and teaching experience of 15 years. He currently teaches Cancer Biology, and Immunology at the Department of Bioresources, School of Biological Sciences, University of Kashmir. He is presently heading the Department of Bioresources, University of Kashmir besides working as Nodal officer of the Department of Internal Quality Assurance.
