Dr. Vijay Krishna Menon is an accomplished expert in artificial intelligence and data science, with two decades of experience in research, teaching, and complex problem-solving across academia and industry. He earned a Ph.D. in mathematical linguistics, an M.S. in computational informatics, and an M.Sc. in software engineering, grounding his expertise in strong theoretical foundations. Dr. Menon has held academic positions, including serving as an Assistant Professor at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and has also led data science initiatives in industry. He is currently the AI/ML Architect at Air India’s Centre of Digital Innovation, where he guides the development of AI-driven solutions for the aviation sector.

Dr. Menon’s specialization covers natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence, as well as big data analytics, simulation-based modelling, and advanced statistical methods. Within NLP, his work ranges from formal grammar-based approaches in computational linguistics to the latest advances in generative and agentic AI. He has authored numerous publications, including studies on large bilingual language corpora for multilingual text processing, novel evolutionary parsing algorithms for complex grammars, and the application of machine learning to engineering problems such as detecting structural defects using dynamic simulation data. He is also highly proficient in algorithm design and data structures, and often translates complex problem statements into computational solutions grounded in fundamental physical principles.
