About

Dr. C. R. Mehta has been working as the Director, ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal since 28 Feb., 2020. He has worked in different scientific positions at ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal during last 34 years. He is having specialization in Farm Machinery and Power, Ergonomics, Conservation Agriculture and Instrumentation. He published over 280 papers including 93 in referred National and International journals, 8 policy papers, 46 books/book chapters, 44 technical bulletins and presented more than 170 papers in conferences/workshops.

The AICRP on Farm Implements and Machinery and ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal were awarded the Chaudhary Devi Lal Outstanding All India Coordinated Research Project Award – 2018 and Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award - 2020, respectively under his leadership. He has been awarded with Recognition Award 2019-20 from National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), New Delhi. He has also received ISAE Gold Medal 2022, ISAE Fellow (2012-13), Commendation Medal (2005-06), Team Award (2006-07) and Distinguished Service Certificate (2002-03) from Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers for research and development in the field of Farm Machinery & Power.

He has widely travelled abroad and also represented ICAR in different scientific meetings of the CSAM and ANTAM of UN-ESCAP. He is Cooperating Editor of Agricultural Mechanization in Asia, Africa and Latin America (AMA), Editor, The Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences and Editor, Indian Journal of Dryland Agriculture Research & Development. He was Vice President (Technical Council), ISAE during 2018-21 and Executive Member of Indian Society of Ergonomics (ISE) (2015-18; 2018-21).
