About
Dr. Hrishikesh A. Shahane is a Scientist 'C' at the Geotechnical Engineering Division, CSIR- Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi, since November 24, 2025. He completed his PhD in civil engineering in January 2023 from the National Institute of Technology, Surat, India. He completed his M.Tech in geotechnical engineering in 2015 from the College of Engineering, Pune, India. His doctoral research focuses on developing novel angular-shaped, high-strength fly ash aggregates. His research interests include transportation geotechnics: the utilization of industrial solid waste in pavement construction, performance evaluation of cementitious materials for base and subbase layers, sustainable pavement/construction materials, and geosynthetics for pavements. Geotechnical properties of geomaterials for rational and sustainable design and construction include fly ash aggregates, fly ash-geopolymer, mine tailing, etc. Behavior of compacted and stabilized geomaterials, ground improvement, soil stabilization, and life cycle assessment.
