About

Dr. Tarh Ramya is a scholar in anthropology and tribal studies with a strong focus on tribal communities and related issues in Arunachal Pradesh. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in anthropology and an M.Phil. in tribal studies from Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh. His academic career is marked by extensive field engagement and involvement in significant research projects, particularly on traditional funeral rites and the documentation of lesser-known tribal groups of the region. Dr. Ramya has been a recipient of prestigious fellowships, including the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (JRF and SRF) from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India (2010–2015), and the UGC-JRF in 2015. He has authored five books and published numerous research papers in reputed journals and edited volumes. Currently, he serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Tribal Studies at Arunachal Pradesh University, Pasighat.
