About
Dr. Mirela Matković Stojšin is employed at the "Tamiš" Research and Development Institute, Pančevo, Serbia, as a senior research associate in the field of Biotechnical sciences - agriculture, the narrower scientific discipline of Genetics and Plant Breeding. Her research primarily focuses on studying the genotype × environment interaction, as well as assessing the adaptability and stability of wheat genotypes in relation to variable environmental conditions. She investigates wheat tolerance to abiotic stress, with a particular focus on stress caused by increased soil salinity. Mirela collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to identify selection criteria and characterize traits and mechanisms of small grain tolerance to changing environmental conditions. She has published numerous research articles in international and national journals and presented her work at national and international conferences. She is a reviewer of one monograph-edition and numerous scientific papers published in national and international journals. Since 2024, she has served as the assistant editor of the journal “Plant Breeding and Seed Production”. She is a member of the program board for the national scientific conference with international participation "Biotechnology and Modern Approaches in Plant Cultivation and Breeding". Additionally, she is a member of the scientific committee of the 12th JEEP International Scientific Agribusiness Conference, MAK 2025 – Kopaonik, titled "Climate Changes and Ecological Sustainability in Agriculture and Food Production in Serbia, the Region, and Southeastern Europe". Since 2025, she has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Turkish Journal of Field Crops. She is also a member of the Serbian Genetic Society and the Serbian Association of Plant Breeders and Seed Producers.
