About

Dr. K. Mahammad Rafi is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology (MJCET), Hyderabad, since October 13, 2008, with over 17 years of teaching and research experience.

He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Osmania University in 2022. His doctoral research focused on "Coordinated Control of DSTATCOM with Switchable Capacitor Bank in a Secondary Distribution System for Power Factor Improvement." He also holds an M.Tech. in Advanced Power Systems from JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada, and a B.Tech. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from JNTU.

Dr. Rafi's areas of research interest include reactive power control, voltage stability, power electronics applications in renewable energy, electric vehicle systems, and the control of power quality devices such as DSTATCOM and DVR.

He has authored numerous research publications and holds a patent titled “Method for Detecting Optimal Location and Coordinated Control of DSTATCOM in a Radial Distribution Network.” His technical expertise includes MATLAB, Typhoon HIL, PSPICE, and other advanced simulation tools.

In addition to research, Dr. Rafi has guided multiple postgraduate projects, delivered invited lectures at prestigious institutions including the Indian Naval Academy, and handled several administrative roles at MJCET, including managing solar PV systems and energy monitoring systems.

Dr. Rafi is also an active member of several professional organizations such as IRED, IAENG, and IFERP.
