Pankaj Bharali
Tezpur University, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology Inorganic and Physical Chemistry Division
About
Dr. Pankaj Bharali has been a Faculty Member at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Tezpur University, since 2011, where he is currently a Professor. He carried out a postdoc at AIST Kansai, Japan, and Tezpur University. He is an alumnus of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad (Ph.D.), Gauhati University (M.Sc.), and Dibrugarh University (B.Sc.). He teaches Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Methods, and Catalysis.
His current research focuses on synthesizing nanomaterials of various morphology, size, and composition to elucidate the structure-property correlation, along with mechanistic studies of Pt-free electrocatalysts for hydrogen energy and fuel cell reactions. Specifically, Dr. Bharali is interested in the development of selective and stable Pd-based bi/trimetallic and redox-active metal oxides/chalcogenides, as well as their composites, for oxygen electrocatalysis and the electrooxidation of polyalcohols, urea, and formic acid. Currently, their focus is centred on developing bifunctional electrocatalysts.
