About

I am an associate professor of economics in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and an associate faculty at the School of Sustainability at IIT Madras, Chennai. I am also an affiliated researcher at the Center for Technology and Policy and Energy Consortium at IIT Madras. I have received several awards, including the Trend Setters Grant Award, Australia Awards Fellowship and Prof. Raghuram Rajan’s “Young Scholar Grant Award.” I completed my doctoral research at IIT Bombay in 2013. My dissertation focused on the “Economics of Energy Use in Indian Industries”. I received the “Excellence in PhD Research Award 2012-2013” at IIT Bombay.

My research interests include energy economics, applied microeconomics, industrial economics, institutional economics, and the economics of global climate change. The courses I teach at IIT Madras include Statistical Inference, International Economics, Energy Economics, Climate Economics, Principles of Economics, Applied Economics and Applied Econometrics. Earlier, I taught at the Madras School of Economics, Chennai and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV)
