Dr. Navin Kumar is a Professor of Biotechnology at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, with over 22 years of experience in academia, industry, and translational research. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics from DRDO (DIPAS), Delhi, along with an MSc in Life Sciences and a BSc in Biology. His research focuses on molecular diagnostics, functional genomics, microbial pathogenesis, and drug target discovery. A major translational achievement of his career is the development and successful commercialization of the RT-PCR–based typhoid detection kit “VANSCAN,” transferred to Vanguard Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, and launched in 2023. Dr. Kumar has an H-index of 18, has published over 60 peer-reviewed research articles, and holds multiple granted Indian patents along with international and PCT filings. He is an experienced mentor who has successfully guided eight PhD scholars and continues to supervise doctoral research. His scientific and innovation-driven contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Outstanding Researcher Award and IPR Excellence Award by UCOST.
