Prof. Dr. Ayaz Ahmad is serving as a Tenured Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Pakistan. He obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics in 2012 and completed postdoctoral training at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. With a track record of nearly 80 international peer-reviewed articles in respected journals such as Cell Host and Microbe, PNAS, Cancer Letters, Molecular Plant, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Journal of Genetics and Genomics, Prof. Ahmad has contributed significantly to the scientific community.
His research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including genetics, functional characterization of genes, biological activities of Bioactive compounds, endophytes, bioinformatics, and biological activities of nanoparticles. Prof. Ahmad's academic endeavors extend beyond research; he has dedicated over 20 years to teaching and research supervision at the undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. levels. Additionally, he served as Chairman of the Department for five years, demonstrating his commitment to academic leadership.
Prof. Ahmad's contributions extend beyond academia; he has organized numerous national and international conferences and seminars and actively engages with professional societies. His involvement in community services includes roles as President of the Teachers Association at the university and General Secretary of the provincial chapter of the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations (FAPUASA). Prof. Ahmad's multifaceted contributions reflect his dedication to advancing knowledge and fostering academic excellence within and beyond the university setting.
