About

I am an X-ray Astronomer and my research interest revolves around accreting objects. I am actively involved in carrying out several multi-wavelength campaigns to study these objects in the sky and serve as a science team member of upcoming Indian X-ray polarization mission, XPoSat to be launched soon by ISRO in 2023. I have also served as a support astronomer for the LAXPC payload on-board AstroSat. The role of a support astronomer was to ensure that users have full support after their observing run. I have been supervising research associates, several master students for their thesis, and junior/senior research fellows. This is a high level of professional experience for an early-career researcher. I have served on time allocation committees, refereed papers, and participated in organizing large international workshops. This shows that I am an active member of the global astronomical community, where I continue to contribute my time and effort to growing this community. Alongside research, I am passionate about public science engagement and care strongly about the Gender Equity in STEM careers. I am invited member of the working towards gender equity group of Astronomical Society of India (ASI) and Faculty-in-charge for Women in Physics, Maths and Astronomy (WiPMA) group at IISER Mohali, was also appointed as a Young Member in the country team representing India in the International Conference on Women In Physics held in Melbourne from 13th to 17th July 2020.
