About
Born in the year 1989 at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, INDIA, and was brought up till 2007 in his hometown. He did his schooling till class 12th in his hometown. He completed his high school (Class X) from SSSV Inter college Faizabad then moved to Government Intercollege, Faizabad to complete intermediate (Class XII) affiliated to UP Board Allahabad in Hindi Medium language. He scored the highest mark in class 12th in Biology Section for the academic year 2006-2007 at GIC, Faizabad. Later he moved to Bundelkhand University Jhansi, India to complete his B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology degree in the year 2008-2011 and hold the first rank in the University Campus in B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology. Amber got admission for M.Sc. Biotechnology by qualifying the national level exam conducted by JNU, New Delhi CEEB (2012), and completed his degree program from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India in the year 2012-2014 from the School of Biotechnology, Institute of Science. He was awarded the Gold medal for securing the first position for M.Sc. Biotechnology academic year batch (2012-2014) by University.
Amber qualified for several other national level exams: CSIR-UGC JRF- NET(2013,2014), DBT-JRF(2016), GATE -Life Sciences (2019), ICAR New Delhi ASRB Net exam (2020) in Agricultural Biotechnology
Amber Gupta completed his Ph.D. Biotechnology as DST-INSPIRE Senior Research Fellow in 2021 with Dr. Birendra Prasad Shaw (Scientist G) at Plant and Microbial Biotechnology Unit, DBT-Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneshwar, INDIA. The topic of his Ph.D. thesis is “Biochemical and molecular characterization of genes involved in ion-relation in rice cultivars contrast for salt tolerance".
Amber researches in Plant Sciences. His area of interest is 'Expression analysis of H+ ATPase pump and its regulation mechanism through phosphorylation in rice salt-tolerant versus salt-sensitive cultivar under salinity (NaCl) stress. In summary, the total protein level of ion transport channel (PM H+ ATPase) either in the tolerant or sensitive one does not make any significant difference, only the level of its active form of Thr-phosphorylation especially in salt-treated root tissue makes a clear difference from tolerant: Nona Bokra and Pokkali rice cultivar to the sensitive cultivar: IR-29 and IR-64. The relation of the phosphorylation status of PM H+ATPase has been correlated with the salt-induced high level of PM H+ATPase enzyme activity in the selected tolerant versus sensitive cultivars. The mechanism behind the regulation of ion channels through the phosphorylation process by possible kinases is still not well identified in rice that needs to be explored more through molecular and biotechnology interventions for future research work.
