About
I am Dr. Arunava Misra, a chemist specializing in organic and organometallic chemistry, with a particular focus on heterocyclic systems and advanced synthetic methodologies. I was born and brought up in a small village in India. I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Gour Banga, Malda. I then obtained my Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, where my doctoral research was focused on heterocyclic chemistry. Following my Ph.D., I carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Warsaw, Poland, in the laboratory of Prof. Karol Grela. During this time, I worked on the design and synthesis of ruthenium-based Grubbs-type organometallic complexes, particularly for applications in stereoretentive alkene metathesis reactions.
My current research interests include the development of biologically important heterocyclic molecules, photocatalytic methodologies in organic synthesis, and the design of fluorescent molecules for sensing applications.
