About
Leila is an Advanced Research Fellow and Senior Clinical Trials Statistician at the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU), where she is Deputy Head of the Trials Methodology team (StatsCI). She joined ICTU in January 2021 and has over 14 years’ experience in teaching and in the design, conduct, monitoring, analysis and reporting of clinical trials. She holds a BSc in Statistics (Tabriz University) and an MSc and PhD in Biostatistics (Tehran University of Medical Sciences), and has also completed an MBA in Health certificate programme at Sharif University of Technology. Her methodological interests include efficient and robust trial design and the use of Bayesian approaches in trial design, particularly in critical care. She currently holds an NIHR Development and Skills Enhancement (DSE) Award in critical care trial methodology and is an active member of the NIHR Statistics Group – Improving Statistical Literacy, which aims to enhance the communication of statistics and improve statistical literacy through the NIHR network and infrastructure.
