About
Prof. (Dr.) Sonia is an accomplished academician,
researcher, administrator, and mentor with over 19
years of distinguished experience in teaching, research,
innovation, and academic leadership. She currently
serves as Professor and Chairperson of the Department
of Physics and Director, Human Resource Development
at J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology,
YMCA, Faridabad. She has made significant
contributions to higher education through
interdisciplinary research, academic administration,
human resource development, and scientific outreach.
Prof. Sonia possesses a strong multidisciplinary
academic background with dual doctoral degrees: a
Ph.D. in Physics from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi,
specializing in spectroscopic studies of
buckminsterfullerenes, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science
from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, focusing
on efficient clustering approaches for organizing
document collections. She also holds M.Tech. in
Computer Engineering, MCA, M.Sc. in Physics, B.Ed.,
and Certificate in Computers qualifications.
Her research interests encompass nanomaterials,
nanotechnology, energy storage devices, advanced
functional materials, printed and flexible electronics,
sensors, photonic crystals, semiconductor thin films,
MXenes, graphene-based materials, and nano-enabled
energy systems using Quantum Materials. She
established the state-of-the-art "SUKSHAM" Nano
Research Laboratory with financial support from DST
Haryana and UGC, creating a strong research ecosystem
for advanced materials and nanotechnology research.
