About
Prof. Neelesh Sharma is graduated in Veterinary Science from Mhow, M.P., post-graduated in Veterinary Medicine from Durg, C.G. and PhD from South Korea. Dr Sharma is a committed Veterinary Clinicians and Researcher and presently working as Head, Veterinary Microbiology & Immunology, and Professor & Head in the Division of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Science & AH, SKUAST-Jammu. He has >20 years of experience in teaching, research and extension in the field of Veterinary Medicine and his major area of research is production diseases, mastitis, animal stem cells, nanoparticles etc. Served as Visiting Professor in the Jeju National University, South Korea and University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has handled 20 National/International projects funded by various National/International agencies and University has awarded him by STAR Scientist Award for bringing highest grant through ad-hoc projects. He has established research collaboration with various National & International Organizations including University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Jeju National University, South Korea, NIAB, Hyderabad, NIT, Rourkela, IIT, Roorakee, INST, Mohali etc. One patent is granted and 03 more have applied and also developed a Mobile App on “Mastitis”. Dr. Sharma has published 15 books, 03, manuals, 11 compendiums, 02 technical bulletins, 177 papers in peer reviewed national/ international journals with highest NAAS rating >18, 16 extension papers, 12 pamphlets in Hindi, 64 chapters in the books/ compendiums in the field of Veterinary Sciences and 108 abstracts. Dr. Sharma is “ICAR-International Fellow”. I have bestowed with 70 National and International awards such as The Bronze Standard International Award by HRH, The Duke of Edinburgh, UK; NAAS Associateship, NAVS Associate, NADS(I) Associate, Graduate student award, Beijing China; Outstanding Presentation Award, South Korea; Outstanding Research Scholarship award, Thailand; Dr. D.C. Blood Gold Medal Award, IAAVR Merit Award etc. He is Fellow of 11 different National & International Scientific Societies including Fellow of National Academy of Biological Sciences, Fellow MOBILIZATION etc. Dr. Sharma is founder Editor-In-Chief, Journal of Animal Research having NAAS rating 4.89 (2025) and technical editor/regional editor/editorial board member of >40 scientific journals. He is Member of AMR-Multistakeholder Partnership Platform of FAO, UNEP, WHO & WOAH; Member of Global Forum on Food Security & Nutrition forum, FAO; Principal Member of Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), Government of India and CPCSEA nominee, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, GoI. He is life member of 30 scientific societies/ associations. Dr. Sharma has founded “Association of Mastitis” and also Founder Joint General Secretary of Veterinary Internal Preventive Medicine Society, India. Total 14 foreign visits for the scientific purpose, and Visiting Scientist in the Jeju National University, South Korea, and Visiting Professor at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Sharma has attended 70 Conference/Symposia including 20 in abroad. I have organized 42 conference/Seminar/training programs on different aspects of Veterinary & Animal Sciences. He has delivered various Radio & TV talks and 67 invited lectures including abroad (8). Dr. Sharma has nurtured >20 success stories of dairy farmers in Jammu and out of them one success stories has been telecasted at “National Science Channel, Ministry of Science & Technology, GoI. His scientific value reflects by the H-index-35, i10 index- 81 with total citations: 6134.
