About
My name is Tapan Sahoo and I am a recent graduate from SCGhosh Lab at CSIR-CSMCRI, Gujarat, India; on the topic of "Transition Metal catalyzed Directing-Group-Assisted C-H Activation and Functionalization". Currently, I am working in a CRO company, “Jubilant Biosys Limited” as Research Scientist
I have strong knowledge of organic synthesis and synthetic chemistry with 11 publications. My doctoral research experience is in the areas of synthesizing a variety of directing group attached heterocyclic compounds which includes the small step synthesis of 1-Naphthylamine, Quinoline N‐oxide, Picolinamide, 8-quinoline carboxaldehydes, followed by C-H functionalization through homo, heterogeneous and photo catalysis. Additionally, I have been working in a CRO industry on structure-based drug design and synthesis of targeted pyrido-pyrimidine and peptide scaffolds for anti-cancer drug discovery clinical trials for the last 1.5 years.
I have sufficient knowledge in several instruments like HPLC, LC, LC-MS, XRD etc. As a part of my lab, I collaborate closely with my lab mates, technicians, and Dr. Subhash Chandra Ghosh (my PI) to discuss project directions and goals. I also guided and worked with my junior researchers for publications during my PhD and in industry, so I can able to handle a small team properly. I can write reports and proper presentations on behalf of the initiative as well.
