About
Dr. Abhinandan De graduated in Electrical Engineering with honours from Jadavpur University, Calcutta in 1996, and received the Master’s degree with honours in Electrical Engineering with specialization in High Voltage Engineering in 1999. He was rank holder in both. He received the PhD (Engg.) degree from Jadavpur University in 2003. Dr. De has been awarded the Certificate of Merit by National Council of Education, Bengal and Jadavpur University for Academic Excellence and the Tata-Rao Gold Medal and Certificate of Merit in a number of occasions by The Institution of Engineers (India) for technical publications. Dr. De has more than 70 research publications in international and national journals and conferences including Transactions of the IEEE, Proceedings of the IET (IEE) and Elsevier. He has also authored a text book on “Reactive Power Control and Voltage Stability in Power Transmission Systems” published by PHI Learning Ltd. Dr. De has guided 6 PhD scholars and presently guiding 4 research scholars. Dr. De has delivered key-note addresses and invited lectures in more than 20 national and international conferences, workshops and training programs. In 2016 he was invited to deliver lecture on “Applications of ANN in Power Systems” at the Environment & Sustainability Institute (ESI), University of Exeter, Penryn Campus, Cornwall, UK. He has successfully executed a number of Sponsored Research Projects by UGC and IE(I) and has rendered Expert Services in Consultancy Projects. He has previously served a number of Industrial and Government establishments and is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIEST, Shibpur
