Dr. Varsha Rani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Sandip University, Nashik (Maharashtra). She obtained her Ph.D. degree from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, India. She has been awarded the Scientist Associate Award 2019 by the Society of Crop Scientists and Biotechnologists, BHU Varanasi, the Best Poster Presentation Award in 2021 by DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, and Young Researcher Award in 2025 by Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India. Her main area of research is Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, Molecular Biology, Plant Biotechnology, and millet genomics. She has an impressive publication record, including research papers and reviews in highly reputed journals such as Scientific Reports, Planta, Frontiers in Genetics, Heliyon, and Crop Design. She has also contributed chapters to books published by Wiley, Taylor & Francis, and Springer, along with conference proceedings. Additionally, she has over 59 GenBank accession numbers to her credit. She has served as a reviewer for prestigious journals, including Scientific Reports, BMC Agriculture, Frontiers in Plant Science, Frontiers in Plant Physiology, and Frontiers in Nutrition.
