About
Dr. Pradeep Kumar is currently working as Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, School of Physical & Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Technology & Architecture (FoSTA), Manipal University Jaipur, India. He received his doctorate (PhD) degree from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India. After his doctorate, he has been awarded SERB-National Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Department of Physics, Banaras Hindu University Varanasi, India. He has been also awarded Dr. DSK- Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi, India. He was RJP-PDF in the Department of Geophysics, Banaras Hindu University Varanasi, India. Before his doctorate he received Masters of Technology in Geomatics from Indian School of Mines (IIT-ISM) Dhanbad Jharkhand, India. He has also been awarded GATE and UGC-JRF scholarships during his master’s and doctorate degree.
He has made significant contributions in the field of remote sensing, GIS, GPS, AI/ML, aerosols, environmental pollution, climate change, public health, agricultural crops production, and soil moisture and working in these areas, since last 13 years. He has published 50 peer-reviewed research articles in international/national journals with h/i10–index 18/28 and 5 book chapters in Taylor and Francis, NOAA, Elsevier and Springer and also has published more than 30 oral and posters presentations in various national/international conferences/workshops. He has also served as a reviewer in various international reputed journals like Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, International Journal of Remote Sensing, Journal of Hydrology, Remote Sensing Letters, Electronics Letters, Geocarto International, Journal of Earth System Science, Arabian Journal of Geosciences, Remote Sensing Applications: Society and Environment and many more. He served as lead topic editor of special issue entitled “Advances in remote sensing and GIS applied to earth observation and environmental monitoring” in “Frontiers of Remote Sensing” Journal. Guest associate editor of special issue “Environment and Climate: Role of Humans and Technologies (ECRHT)” in “Environmental Science and Pollution Research” Journal. Co-guest editor of Physics and Chemistry of the Earth parts A/B/C entitled “Frontiers in earth observation, environmental monitoring and management. Currently he is working as lead editor in one Scopus Indexed accepted book entitled “Geospatial Technologies: Environmental and Climate Science Applications & Challenges” will be published by Taylor & Francis.
