Dr. NASSEB SINGH
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, GGM Science College Jammu (A Constituent College of Cluster University of Jammu), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra
About
I have completed my Ph.D. Organic Chemistry on 23rd of April, 2021 (Degree awarded 29, July 2022) from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra, Jammu & Kashmir, India.
In my PhD, I have developed a novel synthetic methodologies to synthesize biologically and pharmaceutically significant benzotriazole containing heterocyclic compounds. I have worked as CSIR Senior Research Fellow at Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. I also possess a teaching experience of two years (both at under graduate and postgraduate levels) in Govt. Degree college Udhampur (Affiliated to University of Jammu) & GGM Science College Jammu (A Constituent College of Cluster University of Jammu). Furthermore, I also organized a three day International Conference on Emerging Research Trends in chemical Sciences (ERTCS-2020) in association with Govt. Post Graduate College Rajouri (Affiliated to University of Jammu) from 24-26 July, 2020 with me as the Organizing Secretary.

I have reviewed research articles for leading chemistry journals such as: Applied Organometallic Chemistry (Wiley, IF 3.90), ChemistrySelect (Wiley: 2.307), International Journal of Analytical Chemistry (Hindawi: 1.80) indexed in Scopus & Web of Science Master Journals List.
Presently, I am working as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry from 25th of January, 2024 to present at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata, India. Here I am working with the “The Centre for Marine Therapeutics (CMT)” and involved in the total synthesis of the Trabectedin, Fingolimod and other key intermediates for therapeutic purposes. Besides the development of the new synthetic routes of the trabectedin/Fingolimod, one of my major goals is to scaleup ( upto 1 kg scale) the total synthetic route for the industrial applicability.
