About
Dr. S. Balachandran is an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Physiology, at Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals. He received his bachelor's degree from Bharathidasan University and a master's degree from Anna University in Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. from Annamalai University. He began his career as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2015–2018, then moved to the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China, in 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher. He is a recipient of prestige "CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative" fellowship by China for the promotion of science and a principal investigator of "International Young Scientists Research Fund projects" from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). His research interests include fundamental studies on confined catalysis, environmental chemistry, and nanotechnology, which are interdisciplinary fields. He is currently conducting research on energy storage and harvesting, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), photocatalysis, hydrogen production, micromotors, biosensors, and porous and self-assembled material fabrication for the environmental remediation process. He has published more than 35 articles in reputed international journals.
