About

Viruthachalam Thiagarajan received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Bharathidasan University (India). He obtained his doctoral degree from University of Madras (India) specialized in Ultrafast Spectroscopy and fluorescent sensors under the guidance of Prof. P. Ramamurthy. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in 2005, he joined the Tohoku University, Japan as a JST researcher. In 2008, he moved to French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission(CEA), Paris, France as CEA researcher and also worked as CNRS researcher at École normale supérieure Paris, France from 2010. Later he joined as an INL researcher at International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, Braga (Portugal), where his work focused on ultrafast studies of biomolecules and nanomedicine. Presently he is UGC- Assistant Professor at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli (India).
