About

My research lies in plant breeding and plant pathology, with a focus on disease resistance in solanaceous crops. I study bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum and work on understanding resistance at genetic, physiological, and microbial levels. My work involves SNP discovery from NGS data and converting those variants into practical markers that can be used in breeding populations.

I also conduct disease phenotyping through greenhouse inoculation and field relevant screening, and explore biological control using beneficial microbes such as Trichoderma and Rhizobium. Part of my research examines antimicrobial metabolites using GC–MS and docking to understand how pathogen suppression works. Overall, my interest is in linking molecular tools with real breeding and disease management so that research outcomes are usable beyond the lab.
