Dr. R. Mohanraj holds PhD in Environmental Sciences from Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, India. Presently he is
Professor in Dept. of Environmental science and management, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, India. His primary research interest lies in Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment, Urban Air Pollution, Hydro-geochemistry, eco-restoration, carbon sequestration and corporate environmental management. Prior to 2004, he had worked as a research fellow in Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (Autonomous center of MoEF, Govt. of India). In the year 2004, he was awarded Young Scientist Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology (Government of India). In 2012, he was awarded Commonwealth Academic Fellowship and visited University of Birmingham, U.K for 3 months. In 2013, he was awarded UGC Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship and visited Pennsylvania State University, USA for one year (2013-2014).
Dr. Mohanraj had published 75 research articles in peer reviewed international and Indian journals and edited volumes. He had authored and edited 7 books of Indian and International publishers. He had presented more than 80 research and review papers in international and national level seminars /symposia/conferences including COP meetings as an invited speaker. He had also organized three national level conferences and a number other academic events/outreach programs.
