About
Dr. Murugan Veerapandian is a Scientist-E & Associate Professor, Electrodics & Electrocatalysis Division, CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), Tamil Nadu, India. His current research activities include development of advanced hybrid nanomaterials for point-of-care diagnostics. He accomplished M.S., and Ph.D., in Biomedical Engineering (BioNanotechnology specialization) from the Department of BioNanotechnology, Gachon University, South Korea. During his research studies in South Korea he developed new class of functionalized metal, metalloid/polymer and carbon nanomaterials for anti-microbial and electrochemical biosensor studies. Prior to CSIR-CECRI, he was a DST-Inspire Faculty at NIPER-Kolkata (Apr. 2016 to May 2017). He had the Post-doctoral training from University of Montreal (Apr. 2013 to Feb. 2015), Quebec and University of Guelph (Mar. 2015 to Feb. 2016), Ontario, Canada. In the postdoctoral period, he worked on three-in-one (Metal-Dye-Biopolymer) hybrid nanoparticle and bio-functionalized graphene oxide system for biosensor. He has contributed more than 98 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, 10 book chapters and Five international patents.
