Dr. Asokan Pappu, is currently a Chief Scientist & Chairman Business Development Cell at CSIR- Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute, Bhopal and Professor AcSIR, India.

Dr. Asokan is a Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellow accomplished in Washington State University, USA during 2014-2015. Dr. Asokan is a Sir CV. Raman Research Fellow, performed advanced research at the University of Waikato, New Zealand in 2010. Dr. Asokan pursued Postdoctoral research in London, UK during 2007-2008. Dr. Asokan holds his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay.

Five technologies of Dr. Asokan on “Industrial and Agro wastes recycling, manufacturing hybrid green composite materials, and sisal fibre potentials for rural employment and income generation” have been licensed to four industries as well as to Government of West Bengal.

Dr. Asokan is a Young Scientist Awardees from Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. He is a recipient of 2015 World of Coal Ash Award by American Coal Ash Association, University of Kentucky and EPRI, USA. Dr. Asokan’s innovation and technology demonstration conferred the National Award by the MOEF&CC, DST, Ministry of Power Government of India in 2005. He is a recipient of 12 awards for technology transfer, performing best societal projects, ECF generation, best completed projects, best & most cited papers in Elsevier Science. He has published 198 research papers, delivered 163 invited lectures and authored eleven book chapters and Editor of two books.
He has completed 32 R&D and technology demonstration projects having value of more than Rs.3500 lakhs on multidisciplinary research areas. Dr. Asokan’s 30 years research work have proven significant industrial, societal and environmental impact on basic and applied research and technology commercialization.
