About
I would describe my work till now as a constant search to find solutions to technological problems with socio-economic relevance. A zeal to understand these problems and finding their solution for the advancement of society has been the driving force in my research. This urge, which started in early school life, has always motivated me to work hard and excel in my career.
I completed my Ph.D. in Physics in March 2015 from Tyndall National Institute, which is one of Europe’s leading research centers in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) research and development (R&D), and the largest facility of its kind in Ireland. During Ph.D., I worked on the magnetic anisotropy of nanostructured materials for energy harvesting and energy management applications. During this period, I was able to publish several high impact research articles in reputed journals and received various prestigious international awards/prizes. Within a year after Ph.D., I received the internationally competitive post-doctoral fellowship (IRCSET) by the Irish Research Council to work on a novel idea of developing high-performance magnetic heterostructures for energy harvesting applications. This funding allowed me to grow as an independent researcher and explore research problems of my interest. I successfully completed the project and published four international peer-reviewed journal papers.
Further to diversify my research expertise, I decided to look into one of the pertinent technological challenges of the present digital era on high-density memory and proposed a novel idea of multi-state memory to increase memory density. I was awarded the prestigious Marie-Curie Fellowship by European Union in 2017, only 2 years after my Ph.D. to work on the proposed project in world-renowned University of Cambridge (UCAM), the UK under the mentorship of Prof Judith Driscoll (FREng). I moved to UCAM in March 2018 to work at the Department of Material Science and Metallurgy. I completed my Marie Curie Fellowship in February 2020 and joined IISER Thiruvananthapuram-India in March 2020 as an Assitant Professor in the School of Physics.
