About

Dr. Hasan is an aspiring social researcher with a specialisation in population studies, geography of health, and environmental health and wellness. He completed his BSc and MSc in Geography with a first class from Aliah University, Kolkata, West Bengal, in 2019. He received his PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, Kharagpur, West Bengal, in 2026. He also served as a research assistant under the ICSSR-funded Minor Research Project in the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, for a period of seven months. He qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in 2019 and the West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WBSET) for lectureships in 2020. He has served as an academic reviewer for several reputed peer-reviewed international journals. His research interests lie in population ageing, epidemiology, neighbourhood environment, age-friendly communities, mental health, quality of life, and healthy/successful/sustainable ageing. Besides, he is also interested in exploring occupational health and workplace environments, healthcare disparities among marginalised groups, and issues related to sexual and reproductive health. He has published eight peer-reviewed research articles, and three more are under review. He has presented his research papers at various prestigious national/international conferences and received the Best Paper Award at the international conference held at Jamia Hamdard (Deemed University).
