About

Sandeep Dhundhara is currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the College of Engineering, Faculty of Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment, Birmingham City University, Birmingham, UK. The research project is funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) with a total grant value of £2.36 million and aims to develop scalable, energy-efficient, renewable-based irrigation technologies to support food security, sustainable energy access, and rural development in South Asia.
Prior to his current role, he has also worked as an Assistant Professor (Electrical Engineering) in the Department of Basic Engineering, COAE&T, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, India. He has completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He had been a visiting research fellow at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engg., University of Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom (2017-2018) and an associate research fellow at the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, Birmingham City University, Birmingham, UK (2022-2023). He has a total of 10+ years of teaching and research experience in electrical engineering. He has published several papers in various international journals and conferences. He has acted as guest editor for Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments (SCIE journal published by Elsevier with IF: 8.0) and Neural Computing and Applications (SCI journal published by Springer with IF: 6.0). He is a member of IEEE, UACEE, and INAEG. His research interests include solar and wind energy systems, artificial intelligence (AI) applications for power system control and stability, automatic generation control, and electrical energy storage systems.
