About
Dr. Sahil Mehta has completed his Ph.D. degree from International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi Component in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Before the Ph.D., he did his M.Sc. (Botany) from the Department of Botany, University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. During his Ph.D. tenure, he had served in the Faculty of Life Sciences, Institute of Advanced Management and Research, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India as a Guest Lecturer of Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and has two years experience of teaching undergraduate students. To date, he has received CSIR-JRF fellowships twice, CSIR/ARS-NET twice, two Best Poster, and one Young scientist award. At present, he is a lifetime member of the Indian Phytopathological Society and Delhi University Botanical Society and teaches graduate students in the School of Agricultural Sciences, K.R. Mangalam University.
His primary research interests include (i) the development of transgenics and their biotechnological applications in cutting-edge areas, (ii) the effect of herbicides on plant microbiome, and (iii) fungicidal application of agrochemicals. To date, he
has published more than 20 research and review articles along with 45+ book chapters, 12 popular articles and produced more than 5 conference papers in the last three years. Recently, he has extended his work of horizon to the applications of nanotechnology in plant protection from pathogens and gene delivery and published in many reputed journals.
