I am a Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance with an interest in Mergers and acquisitions (M&As). I earned Ph.D. from the University of Minho in January 2022 whereby I worked on corporate governance and target industry competition in the international takeover market.
My research is broadly interdisciplinary and aligns with two main research themes, namely; (1) corporate finance, and (2) accounting. I have research interests in corporate finance, corporate governance, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As), and earnings management. I have recently published papers in the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions, and Money, International Review of Financial Analysis, and Journal of Business Research which are renowned (ABS 3) outlets, respectively. I like to work with research teams and collaborated with other researchers to publish papers in several high-quality internationally rated (ABS 3 or 4) Finance & Accounting journals. I am also active to participate and present work at international conferences and recently, in 2021, presented my papers at European Financial Management Association (EFMA) and Portuguese Finance Network (PFN).
