About
My research integrates Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, and Pharmacology to address critical questions in brain health and disease, particularly neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's Disease (AD). I have substantial expertise in pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) studies, as demonstrated in my peer-reviewed publications. Currently, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Balaji Krishnan's lab at UTMB, my federally funded work focuses on uncovering mechanistic pathways for therapeutic interventions in AD/ADRD. I am training to utilize multimodal assessments, including behavioral testing, conventional electrophysiology, and molecular analyses. My strong background in neuroscience and pharmacology combined with the training I am receiving in Dr. Krishnan's lab on in vivo models and advanced training in conventional ex vivo electrophysiology (fEPSP, patch and Multi-electrode Array) and hopefully transformed into
cutting-edge in vivo two-photon imaging, human iPSC modeling of AD, and complex bioinformatic analysis, under the expert guidance of my mentorship. This will enable me to lead the proposed research to understand dyslipidemia and PLD1 signalosome in non-neuronal
compartments and how they are regulated from healthy to pathological aging with a particular focus on early events such as synaptopathy. I am committed to a career aimed at developing novel
therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
