PRIYANKA PRIYADARSINI SINGH
Directorate of Science and Technology, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology
About
I am a Ph.D. researcher in Physics, specializing in Acoustic Materials, at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Sambalpur, India. My research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of sustainable, bio-based composite materials for acoustic shielding and noise reduction, using agricultural waste and natural fibers such as luffa cylindrica, corn husk, orange peel, and vetiver root. I work extensively with material characterization techniques including XRD, SEM, FTIR, and laser speckle-based surface analysis, and my work extends into electromagnetic wave absorption and dielectric characterization for microwave shielding applications.
My broader research interests include sustainable acoustic materials, biomass-based composites, laser processing and surface characterization, ultrasonic and thermo-acoustic analysis, and environmental applications of waste-derived materials, with an emphasis on circular economy approaches to material design.
I have authored 12 peer-reviewed journal papers and 4 conference papers, and hold one Indian patent for a vetiver-root-based electro-acoustic stealth material. My work has been recognized with several awards, including the Young Scientist Award (2024) from DST, India, and the Lindau Nobel Laureate Council, the Dr. S. Parthasarathy Memorial Award (2024) from the Ultrasonics Society of India, and the ISSWM Excellence Award (2023). I serve as a reviewer for journals including Materials Research Express, Physica Scripta, and Physica B: Condensed Matter, and hold editorial roles with Futuristic Trends in Renewable & Sustainable Energy and CSIR-AMPRI's Applied Innovative Research.
