About
I am Dr. Laxmi Gupta, currently working as an Assistant Professor (Research) at the School of Energy and Environment, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Punjab. I hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, where my doctoral research focused on geospatial-based multi-criteria flood risk assessment and the role of nature-based solutions for flood risk reduction in Assam, India. My academic journey is rooted in interdisciplinary expertise, with an M.Tech in Disaster Mitigation and Management from IIT Roorkee and an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Calcutta.
My research interests span Remote Sensing and GIS applications, disaster management, natural hazard risk assessment, multi-hazard mapping, vulnerability analysis, and nature-based solutions for climate resilience.
Technically, I am proficient in GIS platforms like ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Earth Engine, with advanced skills in spatial analysis, satellite image processing, and geostatistics.
With a strong commitment to research-driven solutions for sustainable development and resilience planning, I aspire to continue interdisciplinary collaborations that integrate geospatial science, environmental management, and disaster risk reduction.
