About
Dr. Arup Kumar Sahoo is currently working as a Hatter postdoctoral research fellow at the Autonomous Navigation and Sensor Fusion Lab (ANSFL), within the Hatter Department of Marine Technologies, University of Haifa, Israel. His ongoing research focuses on integrating physics-informed neural networks with advanced navigation systems for maneuvers of autonomous robots (quadrotors, mobile wheeled robots, and AUVs).
In parallel, Dr. Sahoo also holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Odisha, India.
He earned his Ph.D. from the Artificial Intelligence unit of the Department of Mathematics at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, Odisha, India. His doctoral research encompassed areas such as scientific machine learning, differential equations, artificial neural networks, and artificial intelligence. He also holds an M.Phil. in Mathematics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, and an M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela.
Dr. Sahoo has authored and co-authored one book, one edited book, along with 16 research papers and book chapters. He has presented his work at numerous international conferences and workshops across five countries: India, USA, Japan, UAE, and Israel. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Best Paper Presenter Award at an IEEE conference in 2023.
