About
I have completed my Graduation (with Honours), Master of Commerce, and Master of Philosophy in Commerce from the University of Calcutta. Further, I have also completed and is duly awarded (September 2022) my Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta. Although my core specialization is in Accounting and Finance. post Ph.D. I worked with the Delhi School of Business (New Delhi) from June 2022 to June 2024 and thereafter at Jindal School of Banking and Finance, O.P. Jindal Global University, from 22nd July 2024 to January 2026.
My area of research is related to the works of Unit Level Data Analysis of Indian Households and policy-related implications of the Reserve Bank of India, mainly inclined to credit-related decisions. This in turn is related to my field of Ph.D. work, that is banking. My research work is based on empirical data analysis in terms of methods, research questions, and modes of inquiry to analyze the on sentiments of Indian households. Further, during my Ph.D. tenure, I contributed to the working paper series (Working paper No. 1249) with the Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo, Japan. (https://www.adb.org/sites/default/files/publication/696286/adbi-wp1249.pdf).
My doctoral thesis explores the impact of selected determinants of the financial performance of Indian Commercial Banks with an emphasis to the business cycle. Besides, the thesis also explores the impact of economic efficiency together with the effects of inflation expectations on bank performance. Overall, the results hint that during the recovery phase in the economy banks' financial performance shows a significant uptick whereas if the bank’s top management is well informed about the upcoming changes in the rates it helps to adjust their interest rate structure towards increased earnings. Further, efficient banks can also contribute to better financial performance.
I have 6.5 years of Teaching Experience including 4.5 years of research experience. Presently I am working as an Assistant Professor with National Institute of Securities Markets.
