About
He obtained his MSc in Organic Chemistry (2005) and his PhD in Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. A.K. Mohanakrishnan (2011) at the University of Madras, India. He then joined the group of Prof. Masahiko Hayashi at Kobe University (Kobe, Japan) as a postdoctoral researcher (2011–2012). Later, he worked with Prof. Paul Knochel at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (Munich, Germany) for three years (2013–2015). In 2016, he joined the group of Prof. Anat Milo at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Beer Sheva, Israel) as a PBC Outstanding Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2016–2020).
Then he worked as a DST-SERB Ramanujan Faculty Fellow at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Puducherry (Karaikal, India), supported by the Ramanujan Fellowship (2020–2025). Recently, he was awarded a prestigious Ramanujan Fellowship and Core Research Grant (CRG) from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), India. As of January 6, 2025, he has been appointed as an Assistant Professor in the P. C Ray Department of Chemistry at NIT Puducherry, Karaikal, India.
His OMC research focuses on the design and synthesis of drugs and natural products through organocatalysis and organolithium, -magnesium, and -zinc-mediated cross-coupling reactions enabled by transition metals. He has published more than 100 research articles in reputed international journals as of January 2026 and also book chapters and patents.
