Professor of Agronomy and Plant Breeding at Zagazig University with 27 years of university teaching, research and academic service experience. Specialized in agronomy, plant breeding, quantitative genetics, statistics and experimental design, with a research record focused on crop improvement under drought, heat, salinity, nitrogen and changing climatic conditions as well as quality characters, doubled haploid (DH) technology in breeding, genotype × environment interaction, and breeding of maize, wheat, sunflower, canola, barley, faba bean and cotton. Academic experience includes long-term research collaboration with the Bavarian State Research Centre for Agriculture (LfL), Germany, postdoctoral research, postgraduate supervision, university quality assurance, academic administration and management of an agricultural research and experimental center at Zagazig University. Research outputs include peer-reviewed publications in international and national journals, a Springer book chapter, academic books in Arabic, research projects and extensive postgraduate supervision.
