About
Prof. Dr. K. Suvarna Vani is a well-known Researcher in the area of Bio Informatics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and GIS. She is Honorary Adjunct Senior Research Scientist at Dana Brain Health Institute, Iran. Received Post Doctoral Fellowship from Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam. She is a life member of the International Society for Rough Sets, International Association of Engineers and Internet Society. She had served in various roles in Technical Teaching with vast experience and currently serving as Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College, which is a First Private Engineering College in Combined State of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Dr Vani visited United States of America, United Kingdom, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore to present her research findings in reputed International conferences organized by ACM, IEEE and Springer. She had been a research fellow of Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology since 2010. She had filed an IPR and published 3 books. In addition to that she had vast number of publications in reputed Journals and Conferences like IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (TCBB), John Wiley’s DMKD, IEEE Conference CIBCB and IJCNN.
Dr Vani received R&D Grants worth 60.10 Lakhs from reputed organizations like UGC (International Travel Grant, UGC Major Research Project) and ISRO-NRSC, NESAC RESPOND scheme. She is the first women in Andhra Pradesh to utilize World Bank funding to visit abroad under TEQIP S.C.1.2. for enhancing her research. She had Research Collaboration with PSIMS Research Foundation and Sai Varnha Eye Hospital for Diabetic Retinopathy, Mrs. Somadatta Sinha, Senior Scientist, CCMB and continuous interaction with prominent professors like Dr. M. Mikler, Dr. Barrat, Prof. En-Bing Lin and Dr. Peng from USA, Dr.Bui Thanh Hung, Dr. Prasun C from Vietnam, and Dr. Nitin Tripati and Dr. Rajesh Chowdary from Thailand. Carrying out a Consultancy project of worth Rs.10Lakhs (Approx) with Meghanam Company Pvt. Ltd. on Automating drone-based surveys for Categorization and Enumeration of Trees, Animals, Vehicles and Humans.
Dr Vani served as technical reviewer for IEEE, CIBCB, APBC conferences and International Journal of Bioscience and Bioinformatics. She had successfully supervised a number of student projects at Graduate and Under Graduate level. Mentor for Techgium product related autonomous vehicle Project and Smart India Hackthan problem for Human Welfare. Motivating the undergrad students to accomplish their internship at e-Pragati towards Digital AP and NRSC BHUVAN Geo Spatial Projects. She is supervising a remarkable number of research scholars with high motivation and commitment. Her current focus is on Bio informatics, Image Analysis and Data Analytics to address the Societal Problems. She believes that, lifelong learning is required in this profession by contributing to Education, Research and Development that leads for technical development on the Globe. Her long term goal is to become an Entrepreneur
