About
I am a Scientist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kentucky, where I conduct translational research investigating the interplay between spinal cord injury and diabetes, particularly their combined contribution to autonomic dysfunction in human patients, and attempt to understand the plausible mechanisms using rodent models. Previously, as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Kentucky, my research focused on diabetes-mediated cardiac remodeling, neurodegenration, and aging.
I earned my Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from AcSIR–CSIR-IITR, with a specialization in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Toxicology. My doctoral research explored the role of ER stress in diabetic liver injury and the involvement of FoxO protein modifications in hepatic cancer cell apoptosis. I also have industry experience as a Research Scientist at Accutest Biologics Pvt. Ltd., where I contributed to preclinical evaluation of biosimilars for their anti-diabetic and anti-cancer potential using various cell-based and molecular techniques.
