About
I am a passionate molecular and cellular biology scientist with 5+ years experience in the vascular biology, small animal imaging, retina biology, and cardiovascular diseases. My 9 peer-reviewed publications, intramural predoctoral fellowship, 10 conference talks, and 17 poster presentations at national and international meetings demonstrate my ability as an effective communicator. I am a recipient of 2022 Chancellor's Award, which is highest award given by university to graduating students for excellence in graduate school.
• I have a strong interest in science communication and have published 13 blogs for American Heart Association and EsurgiBiotech.
• I am proficient in designing and executing key studies in cell culture and rodent models. I am passionate about identifying therapeutic targets and developing therapies for patients with no or minimal treatment options.
• I thrive in a collaborative environment contributing to the team’s success, as evidenced by two of my publications, which were collaborations between 5 laboratories from different departments and different schools.
• My leadership and organization skills have assisted me as department representative on graduate school council and department student social media chair coordinator.
• I also enjoy giving back to the community. I volunteered to provide lab tours to middle school and high school students during Career Quest Day and Bringing STEM to Life Day. I also volunteered for successful American Heart Association fundraisers.
