Unnati Modi
Indian Institute of Advanced Research, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad University
About
Unnati Modi currently holds the position of Research Associate at IIT Gandhinagar. She earned her doctoral degree in year 2025 from the Biomaterial and Biomimetics Laboratory from School of Life Sciences, Central University of Gujarat. She completed her Master of Sciences from the Division of Biological and Life Sciences, Ahmedabad University in the year 2016. Her Ph.D. research focused on the design and development of extracellular matrix-mimicking, scaffold-based 3D in vitro cancer models. She further investigated tumor-promoting factors within these 3D models, emphasizing the molecular-level effects of cellular dimensionality. She has also worked in the field of tissue engineering(osteogenesis) and co-culture systems. Currently, her research work has expanded into the realm of enzyme-driven active matter systems. She is exploring their potential for intracellular transport and targeted therapeutic delivery, particularly in the tumor microenvironment-mimicking 3D in vitro model. She has also worked in the field of tissue engineering. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges material science, cellular biology, and therapeutic innovation.
