About

I hold degrees in BSc, BLIS, and MLIS from Banaras Hindu University, an MA from Kanpur University, and a PhD from Vidyasagar University, West Bengal. With nearly two decades of professional experience, I have served in leading institutions across India including ISRO, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, and NIT Rourkela. I am currently working as Deputy Librarian at Tripura University (A Central University).

My career encompasses library administration, teaching, research, and ICT-enabled services for libraries. I have published and presented more than 20 papers in national and international journals, conferences, and edited volumes, and authored/edited four books. I have also participated in over 60 workshops and conferences as an invited speaker and resource person.

Beyond institutional roles, I actively assist libraries in India and abroad with data migration and the implementation of open-source solutions such as Koha, DSpace, and Joomla, and conduct training programs on these technologies. I also serve as an editorial board member of Gyankosh (a reputed LIS journal) and actively contribute to open-source software communities.

My book “Basics of Library Automation, Koha Library Management Software and Data Migration: Challenges with Case Study” is recommended in the UGC BLIS syllabus (LOCF). I have developed two open source software (DatavisuOpenAlex and VisitorInOut) for the visualisation of research data through charts in real time, and management of Library visitors and better statistics to further enhance the library services.
